Up the Stairs Books

Well this is it! This is the spot where I’ll talk about all things CHILDREN’S BOOKS, kids, being a parent, and whatever else crosses my mind. I’m excited about this.

If you are a parent and raising kids in this crazy and complicated world, my hat goes off to you. Up The Stairs Books is a place that wants to encourage you and give you hope.

I don’t claim to have the answers, and I have made my share of mistakes. I sometimes look back and just laugh at what I thought I knew.

As you can probably tell, “I am an empty nester”. Ya gotta love that term. Yah.. the baby birds have flown the coop.

What it doesn’t say, is what is still in my nest or went out with the baby birds. Maybe you could say “I’m a remodeled nester” or “I’m a bird with a house under construction” or “My nest is for sale; moving to Hawaii”.

Haha.. that’s a vulnerable way of saying “I’m a little lost, and I’m looking for a new purpose”. Wow that went deep fast!

I guess this old bird has learned a lot in the past few years and decided that life does exist beyond those child rearing years. In fact, hold tight… it might have even gotten better. It’s not all easy, and God is teaching me so much all the time.

My journey has landed here: To follow Him, learn from Him, and do what He does.

What does that look like? Well for today it means just being brave and writing on this website. Each day, I’m on a journey and learning something new. Who knows? I may just fly out of this nest too!

As this website is called “Up the Stairs Books”, you should probably know that I wrote my first children’s book. It’s called “I Can Sleep All Night Long”. Below you will find a timeline that takes a journey up the steps toward launching this book. I’d love for you to join me as I take each step.
